Athletic Weekly 9/8 – 9/12

Last week was a full week of CTA Athletics! All of our fall sports are officially underway, as our Middle School Volleyball team got to see action for the first time this season. We had quite a few wins throughout the busy week, and our teams are ready for another exciting week of competition!

Our Athletic Website – ArbiterLive

We are getting even closer to having ArbiterLive fully up and running! I am continuing to update schedules and information as we finish the transition from BigTeams.

For now, please continue to use your team’s BAND app as the most up-to-date source for practice and game schedules. Coaches will continue to communicate any schedule changes through BAND. Thank you for your patience as we continue getting everything organized!

A Reminder on Sportsmanship

As we get deeper into the season, let’s continue to make sportsmanship and school pride a priority. Please support our athletes by cheering positively and treating our opponents, coaches, and officials with respect. We want CTA to be known for competing hard, supporting one another, and representing our school with class.

Week in Review

It was a busy and successful week for our Chargers! Here’s a look back at the action:

Varsity Soccer

Our varsity soccer team finished the week with a perfect 2–0 record!

The Chargers opened the week with a high-scoring battle against WMAES, coming away with an exciting 7–6 victory! They then faced Barry County Christian for the second time this season and picked up another win, defeating BCCS 3–1. Micah Rypma had an outstanding week, scoring more than four goals across the two games. The boys are carrying some great momentum into another busy week of soccer!

Varsity Volleyball

Our varsity volleyball team played just once last week, but it was a great one! The Chargers hosted WMAES in an exciting back-and-forth match. WMAES took the first set 22–25, but the Chargers refused to back down. CTA battled back to win three straight sets:

25–23 | 25–22 | 27–25

It was a great comeback victory for our girls, showing their ability to stay composed, compete, and fight through a close match. Way to battle, Chargers!

Middle School Volleyball

Our Middle School Volleyball team finally got their season started last week, and they jumped right into some competitive matches! The Chargers opened the week against WMAES with a heartbreaking three-set match. CTA came out strong, taking the first set 27–25. WMAES answered by taking the second set 15–25, and the final set went back and forth before WMAES edged out the Chargers 13–15.

Later in the week, the Chargers were asked to play a five-set match against Barry County Christian. CTA would win the first and third sets, while Barry County took the other three. Once again, it was an extremely competitive match, with every set decided by five points or fewer. Our Middle School girls showed a lot of fight in their first week of competition, and we’re excited to see them continue to grow throughout the season!
