This past week marks the official end of our teams’ regular seasons as we head into the conference tournament this week. Thankfully, the excitement doesn’t stop there—our athletes get one more chance for action and fun during our CTA Staff vs. Student Game on February 20th at Algoma Christian Schools! We’ll also be honoring our senior basketball athletes before the event. It’s shaping up to be a great night of community, competition, and laughs—mark your calendars!
Week in Review
Girls Varsity Basketball
In three competitions last week, our varsity girls came away undefeated with three solid wins! They beat Libertas 36–24, WMAES 27–7, and Calvary Schools of Holland 24–21. The girls are entering the conference tournament with great momentum and confidence!
Boys Varsity Basketball
Our varsity boys had a full week with four games. They opened strong with a win over Libertas 66–48. Their matchup with WMAES was a nail-biter, ultimately ending in a close 47–53 loss. Their remaining games against Calvary Schools of Holland and West Michigan Lutheran were battles against two strong programs in the area, but we weren’t able to pull out wins. Still, the boys continue to show grit and growth as they enter tournament play.
Middle School Girls Basketball
Our middle school girls continue to show steady improvement and growth each week. They had just one game last week, taking on Algoma Christian Schools. While it resulted in a loss, their progress and effort remain evident every time they step onto the court.
CTA Staff vs. Student Game
We are excited to announce that CTA will be hosting our Staff vs. Student Basketball Game on Friday, February 20th at 7:00 PM at Algoma Christian Schools, immediately following our Middle School Girls Basketball game! We are working on getting more details finalized, but we want to officially invite any CTA alumni who would like to participate as well—this is always a fun, competitive, and memorable event.
In addition to the game, we will also be honoring our senior basketball athletes before tip-off. This is a night you won’t want to miss as we celebrate our athletes, our staff, our alumni, and our Charger community. We look forward to seeing everyone there for an evening full of basketball, celebration, and fun!
